Delhi: In a swift and strategic operation, the Ranhola Police arrested a 21-year-old individual who had been flaunting firearms on social media, allegedly to instill fear and gain notoriety. The accused, identified as Akash Goswami, a resident of Vikas Nagar, Delhi, was apprehended near Nala Road, Shiv Mandir, Shiv Vihar, Vikas Nagar.
Tip-Off and Investigation
Acting on a confidential tip-off, the police verified information regarding a youth displaying firearms on social media. Further intelligence pinpointed his location near Shiv Mandir. Following due diligence, the police initiated a thorough enquiry and planned a strategic operation to apprehend him.
Formation of the Task Force
A special team was constituted under the leadership of Inspector Mukesh Kumar of PS Ranhola, operating under the close supervision of ACP Nangloi, Sh. Jaipal Singh. The team included HC Devender, HC Satyawan, HC Sandeep, and Constable Narender, who worked in coordination to ensure the suspect’s capture.
Arrest and Seizure
On receiving credible intelligence, the team launched an immediate operation at the identified location. The suspect was quickly identified, surrounded, and taken into custody. Upon a thorough search, a country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from his possession.
A case was registered under FIR No. 136/25, invoking Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act at PS Ranhola. The accused was placed under arrest, and all recovered items were seized.
